Thanks for following our blog and thanks for listening to our network. We are proud to say that we are making great progress with the network and received confirmation with a great lineup of guests for the Choppin it Up show. This Sunday we go to the WoodShed with Avery McFadden. The following week the 22nd we talk with Lolita Carter of Dominguez Hills and City Sound. The 29th we talk with Robert Conner of Cream Percussion, and start the month of August with The 90 Degree Show: Goodbye the Capital City Classic with co host Marice Bailey. Marice will give the vibe and the word on the street in Jackson. In the middle of August we will chop it up with Christine Ngeo Katzman of Halftime Mag, and Tim Hinton of the Marching Roundtable. To wrap up the month of August we will talk to Maleta Wilson of HBCU Tours. Stay tuned for spoilers on how we will handle the upcoming marching season!
Thanks for all of the likes on our Facebook page. We hit 100 likes yesterday and that is a blessing. We appreciate the love and hope to build on this for the future. Through our resources, that we have stated in previous posts, we found Cream Percussion that is giving free percussion lessons in the Atlanta area and I met the band director at Dominguez Hills High School who not only directs one of only 5 show bands in California but also directs a DCI band City Sound. It is no doubt that Choppin it up will be the most compelling series on the network. We will talk to some heavy hitters and some strong minds that need to be in the spotlight for our youth to see and to change the fabric of a society that paints a different picture.
So we have decided on the frequency with keeping the marching podcast on Sunday’s at 6pm eastern time. Due to the fact that the Blunote show is still under construction and because we only have one instructor for woodsheddin’ we will add another 90 Degree Show or Choppin it up Show to fill the void. This upcoming weekend will be Choppin it up with Gregory Johnson but the following week will be Woodsheddin: Brass with Avery McFadden. The week after that (July 1) will be the July 4th weekend so we will take a holiday and return on July 8th with the 90 Degree show. It works out for because there are 5 Sundays in the July this year. I think that on the 8th depending on feedback we get we may talk with the person that publishes a sports blog on Bethune Cookman Sports who created a poll showing best home field advantage for hbcu football or we will find another topic to discuss. The following sunday the 15th we will chop it up with Timberly K the entertainer (tentative)
First Sunday of the month will be: The 90 Degree Show
Second Sunday of the month will be: WoodSheddin’
Third Sunday of the month will be: Choppin’ it up
Fourth Sunday of the month will be: The Blunote Show
We will follow this frequency starting in the month of September. Tune in this upcoming weekend to Choppin it up with Gregory Johnson.
