Hello Everyone…It has been a great summer and we are happy to welcome you back to the fall for another great season of programming with The Marching Podcast Network. We are happy to announce that starting new this year we are going to broadcast all of our shows live to YouTube. In addition we will keep a day and time consistent for our viewers to expect us to be on the air throughout the calendar year.
THE 90 DEGREE SHOW
The 90 Degree Show will broadcast live starting on Mondays September 3rd at 930pm EST…. The 2018-19 90 Degree Show Vol.1 with Bridgette Bell and Rashad Waters. We are also excited to announce the return of The PrunAlysis Podcast with Rashad in conjunction with The 90 Degree Show this Fall. These broadcasts will continue throughout the college football season. We will miss the Great Christy Walker as a regular on the show. She is going to concentrate on her education but has wished us the best of luck and will be welcome to be a guest or a part of the show if she desires.
CHOPPIN’ IT UP
At the conclusion of the College Band Season (Last Major Battle of the Bands at the end of the season) we will start the most listened to podcast on the network, the interview series Choppin’ It Up at 6:30pm EST on Sundays in the Spring.
NATIONAL SIGNING DAY FOR MARCHING BANDS
In the Spring before graduation we will have our National Signing Day for Marching Band Podcast on Mondays at 9:30pm. Each year we will pick two high school seniors, one boy and one girl to tell us what school they will attend that fall. We will continue to support the students as they attend college so they are able to be successful and earn their degree.
Lastly we will continue our relationship with Dr. Kevin Davenport and our Directors Series Podcast. Dr. Davenport has recently accepted the position of Head Band Director at Simmons College in Louisville, KY but still is part of our family and we will continue to work with him. We plan to broadcast this podcast on Sundays in July at 6:30pm EST
We are excited about the new launch to stream our content live and we hope that you will continue to support the network. Make sure to hit the Subscribe button on our YouTube Channel to connect to our broadcasts!
We are happy to announce our 3rd Birthday at the Marching Podcast Network! We are moving in the right direction, and we are happy to still be relevant with promise of a productive future. Our main goal is to create scholarships and to expose the youth in the Western Region to bands and HBCUs. Our proudest accomplishment at this point is awarding the scholarships to the four students from our National Signing Day Show for Marching Bands. We were excited to hear their decisions, and we hope too assist them throughout their degrees as well.
We are also grateful in expanding our programing to four different podcast programs on the network. We believe that our current lineup will make a difference by opening the dialog to different ages and professions. The 90 Degree Show was our first and Choppin’ It Up was created shortly afterwards. Last year, we started the Directors Series with Dr. Kevin Davenport, that will continue every year, and our National Signing Day Show for Marching Bands where we will give scholarships annually. We will keep the current format and will make sure that those students selected will receive a scholarship from The Marching Podcast and its sponsors. We will continue to contact band directors for students to be on the show, but students are welcome to apply as well.
In these three years, we have also appreciated all the people that have assisted with the network through graphics, technical equipment, marketing and advice about how to make the show better. We love our new logos provided by John Pickens and Simply Dope Creative, and we really appreciate Christy Walker, and Charles ‘Cheese’ Watters of giving us great voice over work to market and present our podcasts. We also want to thank Kathleen Heuer of The Marketing Music Education Podcast for interviewing us for her podcast. She also enlightened us about Calendly, which has made a huge difference in how we schedule interviews and promo drops.
Again to all of you, THANK YOU!!!
Last and especially not least, we also want to give a special thanks to all of our sponsors that allow us to broadcast during the peak hours and build our scholarship fund. Special shout-out to Rashad Watters and BlockBand Music and Publishing for his ideas, criticism, and for providing an invaluable resource for interviews and networking for our craft.
See you Sundays and sometimes on Tuesdays on Blog Talk Radio!
For all the bandheads that have sat at home and watched young football players tell the world where they will be going to school, now we have our own show for marching bands!! That’s right on April 28th, 2015, The Marching Podcast will host the National Signing Day Show for Marching Bands. We have picked some students from all over the country to tell the world on our network where they will be going to school to get an education and to become part of the marching band family.
We are excited to bring some of our young people into the spotlight. We also wish to make a connection with them when they go compete at the highest level of excitement in marching arts. Finally, we hope to increase the knowledge and awareness of these schools and their band programs, so we can promote and generate excitement for young people to aspire. The students are:
Manuel Powell – Nansemond River High School in Suffolk, VA
Alexis Terry – Dominguez High School in Compton, CA
Cheyenne Allen – Dominguez High School in Compton, CA
Travis Johnson – McCluer South- Berkeley in St. Louis, MO
Special thanks to the Directors of these Schools, special thanks to Lolita Carter, and Terrell Stringer, and special thanks to John Pickens and Simply Dope Creative for designing our logo. Tune in Tuesday, April 28, 2015 @8pm EST to hear the announcements.
After the Broadcast —– Special thanks to our sponsors!
