100 Broadcasts and Running!

304417_333112973452902_1444244306_nWe are proud to announce another milestone here at The Marching Podcast Network. On Tuesday, November 26, 2013, we will be broadcasting our 100th episode on The Marching Podcast Network: Chop It Up with Joshua Cousin. We are blessed and honored to reach this milestone and would not have done it without the listeners and our entire staff. We also want to give thanks to all the people that have broadcast shows on our network and all the people that helped with each broadcast directly and indirectly.

We want The Marching Podcast to be a series of positive podcasts that help inspire young people to do great things and make a balanced decision concerning the college they choose to attend. It it also for the adults to have a platform to reach these young people and be a positive benchmark for the rest of the world. Our passion is to support Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). We strive to provide scholarships to help increase the number of scholarships available and create excitement for HBCU’s. Similar to The Cosby Show and A Different World, we want The Marching Podcast to be that beacon of light and prosperity.

Each podcast has helped with the growth of the network and has also helped bring more listeners to a variety of our network’s other shows. At this time, I want to attempt to say “thanks” to everyone. Thank you to all the shows that have broadcast on The Marching Podcast Network, the people that have helped with audio quality and creative presentation, and last but not least our sponsors and patrons that allow us to broadcast during peak hours (please see the list below for more details). Special thanks to Collin Welbon our Director of Editing, who just recently boosted his career by taking a new job editing for a software company where he lives in San Francisco but will still be able to edit our posts. Another special thanks to all the experts that call in and help me host the 90 Degree Show.

Hit Me Two Times

White_on_black_background_512Well, we are proud to make it to another year in this endeavor of making the world a better place. I am honored to have this 2nd birthday and really happy for the future of this blog and our network The Marching Podcast. We are lucky to celebrate two anniversaries per year. May is our podcast/BlogTalkRadio anniversary, and the magnificent month of September is our blog’s anniversary. In May, we posted about our year with BlogTalkRadio as well as updates about our philosophy and how we got to where we are now.

In this post, I want to highlight one aspect of the network: focusing on other people to help build our mission. We feel with the current lineup, we will be set for our programming, and we want to use this anniversary to give you the programming lineup for The Marching Podcast:

The 90 Degree Show

Choppin’ It Up

HBCU News with The Reeds

That’s What I’m Talking About with David Thompson & Howard Payne

Educational Liberation with Chuck Moore

Networking 101 with Maleta Wilson

We feel with our current programming we are covering all ages and providing information about education, life lessons, and entrepreneurship while providing exposure to all forms of higher learning, so our youth can make more well-rounded decisions about the colleges they aspire to attend. In addition, our current programming provides the image of positive scholars and experts in their field while representing the schools they attended. We hope that more people will see these images and will follow in their footsteps for the betterment of society.

Thanks to all the people that follow our blog and shout-out to our editing director Collin Welbon for editing these posts.

That’s What I’m Talking About!!!

That's What I'm Talking AboutWe are proud to introduce a new show on the Marching Podcast Network. We want to bring listeners in from all areas and hosting a talk show on current events, sports and other issues is something that we have been looking forward to providing to our listeners. That’s What I’m Talking About is a talk show that covers a broad range of topics and invites people to call in and voice their views. The show is hosted by David Thompson, the official Marching Podcast Announcer, and his friend and fraternity brother, Howard Payne. The two of them have a friendship where they can debate topics for hours on the phone, and I would like to highlight that exchange and that friendship on the network. I will be producing the show by running things for David and Howard in the background, so they do not have to worry about the time, playing audio files, etc., while hosting the show.  The mission statement of the show reads as follows:

Our goal is to enlighten the public by not only stimulating their intellect by posing various questions, but to also pose valid, yet sometimes conflicting, viewpoints on current day topics and events. We also strive to provide viable information concerning these topics that could enhance your daily lives. We seek to give this podcast a broader perspective by educating the public on all sides of current topics and events.

We look forward to growing the number of shows on our network to create pillars of character for our listeners. We believe that knowledge is power, so we want to give the visual representation of success along with the mental tips to see us through. Check out the show every second Monday of the month at 9 PM (EDT) here on The Marching Podcast Network. Check out their Facebook page here:
